This year’s winner is Jayne R. Drewes-Churchill of (Western Union). Jayne and her team played a pivotal role when Western Union decided to move their sprawling Global HQ campus into a high-rise. As their Senior Manager of Project Management, she and her team accomplished the project seemingly for a CRE Project of the Western Union Headquarters in Denver. Jayne was the Western Union CRE Project Manager.  The aim was to create a work environment that would fuel innovation and creativity, foster, collaboration and increase energy around us – and strengthen the ties with our hometown.  We took those guiding principles and set up a road map that included inviting employees to provide feedback and think about current culture and what the future culture looked like. Part of this also included Planning principles to create community hubs, break down silos, provide variety and choice, maximize natural daylight for everyone, neighborhood planning and minimize distractions. Conceptual plans for Project Hometown created a Hometown company with global reach and how to best represent that in-built environment. Each floor of the space represented a global region and community hub really pulled that regional culture into the design. There was a massive push for change management and communication to the employees to help them plan for and understand what to expect at the new space. The project planning – crunching numbers, finding real estate/space and then signing of leases and build out through move in was a collaborative team of people and resources – the build out began in January of 2018 and move in was complete by October 1, 2018.  Build out of 250,000 SF (One Belleview Station) plus an additional 100,000 SF (Tufts Ave) plus the movement of 1500 people was orchestrated in a short amount time – but the team which include WU CRE, Gensler, Howell, Jacobs, OfficeScapes, Pear and many, many more was accomplished.
